The ROGUE project is engineering energycane and Miscanthus to develop a sustainable supply of biodiesel, biojet fuel, and bioproducts through four research objectives:
Bioenergy
We are producing an abundance of natural oil—by engineering energycane and Miscanthus—that can be converted into biodiesel, biojet fuel, and bioproducts.
Sustainability
We are improving how plants convert sunlight into plant matter through photosynthesis, without requiring more water or fertilizer.
Technology
Through an efficient pipeline from in silico design to bioengineering and field testing, ROGUE technologies will be transferred to energycane and Miscanthus.
Efficacy
ROGUE technologies are tested through replicated field trials to further develop our patented method to separate bio-oil from the stems.
