Vijay Singh
| | University of IllinoisVijay Singh is the deputy director of the Center of Advanced BioEnergy Research at the University of Illinois. He is also the Distinguished Professor of Bioprocessing, Agricultural and Biological Engineering in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. Vijay’s research focuses on the development of bioprocessing technologies for corn biomass to ethanol, advanced biofuels, food and industrial products. As part of the ROGUE project, his group is performing techno-economic analyses of the processes involved in the recovery of oil from energycane. He is the author of over peer-reviewed 165 articles. Before coming to the University of Illinois, he received his bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering from G.B. Pant University in India. He went on to earn his master's degree and doctorate in food and bioprocess engineering from Illinois. Singh is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Young Faculty Excellence Award from the Corn Refiners Association.
